Pintip Dunn is a New York Times bestselling author of YA fiction. She graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude, with an A.B. in English Literature and Language. She received her J.D. at Yale Law School.

Pintip’s novel, FORGET TOMORROW, won the RWA RITA® for Best First Book. It is also a finalist for the Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire, the Japanese Sakura Medal, the MASL Truman Award, and the Tome Society It list. Music or Silence while you write?
Silence — This is a mechanical question for me.  I can’t physically type, due to long-standing fibromyalgia/RSI, so I use a voice-activation program which requires absolute silence in order to function properly.

What weird food do you like?
I love all food, and no food is weird if you like it! But to answer the spirit of the question: I love steak tartare, as well as this fried eggplant-with-anchovy-shrimp paste Thai dish.

What is one of your most irrational fears?
Scuba Diving

How much do you write every day?
Depends on the day and my kids’ activities. Anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, but I do try to write every day while I’m actively drafting a manuscript.

six hours

What are you working on now?
MALICE. A YA novel pitched as The Dead Zone meets The Sixth Sense, about a girl who learns that a boy in her class wil one day launch World War III and must decide if she can kill his still-innocent self today in order to save millions of lives in the future.

If you could write like one author, who would it be?
Orson Scott Card. Stephenie Meyer. Gillian Flynn.

If you could be one superhero, or have one superpower, who/what would it be?
To freeze time

Go to Thailand for the weekend! (48 hours on the plane and 48 hours there)
