I held her hand
Just as we’d planned
We stood on a midnight shore.
And as I turned
I daftly learned
She could be mine no more.
She slipped out her shoes
All mine to lose
And slid into the sea.
And now I gaze
Through a midnight haze
Her secret mine to keep.
Trust.

This is beautiful, Carlene.
Aw, thank you, Pintip! I just thought I’d put a little mermaid poetry action out there. xoxoxoxoxo
Awwww! That’s so sweet and lovely, Carlene! You’re so talented. Mine would have been: “There once was a mermaid from Nantucket…” lol
