Our Wonderful Cathy Maxwell (VIDEO)
Posted by Diana Belchase
What can I say about Cathy Maxwell? Funny, of course. Intelligent, without a doubt. A bestselling author whose work is the kind you just cannot put down — oh yes!
But more than that is Cathy as a mentor and friend to so many young authors everywhere. So much in fact that at her local writer’s chapter retreat a segment called Maxwell’s Maxims is a cherished way to wrap up a weekend. Even more inspiring, Cathy’s been named the keynote speaker for the 2013 RWA’s meeting in Atlanta, the largest writer’s meeting in the U.S.
In other words, Cathy Maxwell is one of a kind.
She sat down to do this hysterical, lovely interview, and to remind everyone about the signs of ovarian cancer. She’ll also be giving away copies of her book, The Scottish Witch, to FIVE lucky commentators (if comments don’t automatically open click the word “comments” in the upper left margin). So let us know if believe the power of the curse comes from the witch, or the psychological worry of the afflicted, and perhaps you’ll win, too.
Don’t forget to look for the Kiss and Teal seal — as one way of donating to the fight against ovarian cancer. Find out more about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer by clicking here.

Good Morning Ladies! Diana, you’ve done another outstanding video interview for us and Cathy, thank you so much for being here. I loved the WRW Voice workshop you did for us in September, especially the part about seeing the Mind Movies. I also brought my mom, who is a cervical cancer surivor, to that meeting and you were her first experience with a romance author. She loved it and you! So thank you many times over. To answer the question of the day, I believe the power of the curse could absolutely come from the witch and wouldn’t that make total sense? But I also believe in the power of the mind so the psychological worry of the afflicted sounds just as viable. Either way, that is one smoking hot cover! Love the red! Happy Friday xoxo

Great interview with two lovely ladies! The worry and curse run together. I worry more than I should and it is a curse. Thank you for explaining how to pronounce Chattan.

Thank you for another fabulous interview, Diana and Cathy!

What a great interview, ladies! Cathy can charm anyone, any time, anywhere. Using her charm and wit to shed light on such an important topic is especially laudable. Brava. And brava to Diana for conducting such an enjoyable interview!
A friend of mine has been through ovarian cancer – with happier results, thank goodness. She’s still with us and doing great.
I’m looking forward to reading Cathy’s book!

Excellent interview Diana and Cathy. So great to have the fabulous Cathy Maxwell visit the pond, and thanks Diana for bringing her to us!

Wonderful interview, ladies! Thanks for stopping by the pond, Cathy! I remember at my first WRW Retreat Cathy gave a speech called “You’ve Got Talent” and I often think about it when I’m having a Debbie Downer writing moment. Thanks! 😉

Love the interview, and love Cathy Maxwell’s books.

Cathy is a superstar – a great writer, yes, but also a kind, caring person, who always takes time for others. Yay, Cathy! So glad that RWA is giving you the platform to share your wit and wisdom this year!

Wonderful interview! I love Cathy’s books! Also, given that I’m in the medical field, I heartily support Ovarian Cancer Awareness Cause! So, ladies, BE AWARE!

Cathy and Diana what a fun video. You seem to be having such fun together. Thank you for helping educate women on Ovarian Cancer.

Just checked in on my mom, Claudia. She’s down with a nasty cold so I’m not sure if she’s gonna be able to make her way to the pond today to comment for herself. But I have to tell you, she was so cute the day of Cathy’s workshop with us. Several times she asked me to be sure and “jot down that book title and the author’s name C-A-T-H-Y M-A-X-W-E-L-L”” so she wouldn’t forget once she got home to San Diego from her visit. Too cute. 🙂 From Carlene on behalf of her mom, Claudia 🙂

Enjoyed that interview. And love Cathy’s books too.

Fabulous interview, as always, Diana. Cathy, thank you so much for coming by the mermaid pond! Your new trilogy sounds intriguing, and I love the idea of the curse! “If he falls in love, he dies.” Wow — what better conflict for a romance? The Kiss and Teal emblem is such a great project. I was lucky enough to win your wonderful book, The Seduction of Scandal, last year (from Diane Gaston), and I just pulled the book off of my shelf to remind myself of the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Thank you for talking to us about this important subject today!

Great interview. I love reading Cathy’s books. The power of a curse is only as strong as the person believes it to be.
Feb 01, 2013 @ 20:11:26
Great interview. I think the power of the curse is psychological.
Feb 01, 2013 @ 20:57:11
Love you, Cathy! Thanks for all you do! xoxo

Cannot wait to read this second book in the series.
Feb 02, 2013 @ 08:50:47
Love Cathy, & I love The Scottish Witch! Excellent video — thanks so much for sharing with all of us. 🙂

Great interview, Diana! I’m fascinated by the irony of a romance series re a fatal curse which hits when one falls in love and can hardly wait to see how it’s resolved. Getting goosebumps imagining the twists involved…
Feb 03, 2013 @ 14:50:03
Great interview! I can’t wait to read this book!!! Thanks for the chance to win.
Feb 09, 2013 @ 00:30:08
Congratulations to the winners!
Best regards, Diana & Cathy
