A New Rose in the Literary Garden: Kim Boykin
Kim Boykin is absolutely delightful. She writes the way she lives — deeply and passionately. In today’s video she talks about her life as a Southern Woman, her mother’s beauty shop, her roses, and her wonderful new book: The Wisdom of Hair. As Kim says, “As women we believe, if we can change our hair, we can change our lives.” I couldn’t agree more.
Kim understands the special relationship between a woman and her stylist so much, that she’s giving away THREE SETS OF BOOKS! Each one contains a book for the reader, and another to give to her (or his) stylist! Answer the question in a comment below in order to be entered to win.
Here is a link to the book trailer: The Wisdom of Hair or find out more about Kim’s book here.
So, what do you think? How does your hair affect who you are? Or does it?
(Remember to check back to see if you’ve won — because if I don’t hear back from you within ten days of posting the winners, your book will go to someone else. You may post your comment here, or at DianaBelchase.wordpress.com, to be entered. Posting at both places gives you extra chances to win!)

Going gray has made embrace my age. My great nieces and nephews have made me choose to dye it. Love the stories about your mom’s shop.

I’ve been evolving my hair color since I was sixteen, first with Lemon-Go-Lightly, then thirty day wash in color and finally with the full shebang- highlights, low-lights. My hairstyles have changed too. I’d like to think that I am who I am irregardless of the color, but I’ll admit being a red-head made me spunkier and having short, spiky hair made me more daring. I look forward to getting my mom and granny’s silver-white hair to see where that evolution takes me.
