The Mr. Flynn is Fabulous Giveaway!
So you know how I wrote about one of my most romantic moments ever earlier this week? Well, someone must have alerted the handsome Mr. Flynn because he surprised me with a one-night getaway sans children for Valentine’s Day. He made all the arrangements – including overnight childcare – without me knowing anything.
When he dropped the news, I didn’t believe him. Mr. Flynn is a lot of things, but Mr. Romantic isn’t one of them – or so I thought. So in honor of the hottest, smartest, funniest, most romantic man ever, here is today’s Waterworld Mermaid giveaway.
The Mr. Flynn is Fabulous Giveaway!
One lucky commenter will win a signed copy of Up a Dry Creek and a $10 iTunes gift card (open to U.S. residents only). How do you win? Answer this question by 11:59 p.m. EST Sunday Feb. 19: Who is your fictional boyfriend?
Feb 17, 2012 @ 06:25:26
Good job Mr. Flynn!!!!!
And my answer is easy . . . Alex O’Loughlin!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 08:51:25
Excellent choice Robin.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:04:42
You stole my boyfriend! That’s okay. I call Matt Nathanson 🙂 hehe!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 06:56:03
Yay!!
I am still in love with George Cooper from Tamora Pierce’s ALANNA series, and have been for over two decades.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 08:51:52
Must find out more. Anyone worth two decades of devotion is worthy of investigation.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 07:27:19
Go Mr. Flynn!!!!
I have too many fictional boyfriends! I’d rather not name my fave, (rhymes with Talerius Vagnus) because my fictional best friend is his wife, Tabitha!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 08:52:24
Of course he’s your fictional boyfriend, who else would it be? 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 09:33:10
Listen, I do not have enough time to list all of my fictional boyfriends. I mean, there’s just soooo many imaginary people vying for my affections these days. It all started back in the day with Kirk Cameron. From there it moved through many hotties, including Jonathan Brandis, Leonardo DiCaprio (of course)… wait a minute, these are real people. Well, you know what I mean. My ultimate pretend boyfriend is Joshua Jackson of Dawson’s Creek and Fringe fame. I mean, he was in Mighty Ducks, he’s Canadian so clearly must love hockey and he uses big words in interviews. What’s not to love?
Ohhhhh- and Zack Morris of course!!!! Silly Kerri!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:34:18
I promise now to never, ever steal your fictional boyfriends. You can have ’em. 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 09:54:15
I love having fictional boyfriends- especially of the Paranormal type. So useful for opening jars and such. I’ll take a rage demon from Kresley Cole’s Immortal’s after dark, or a shifter from Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changling World. Wold or Leopard please. Although Kaleb Krychek is intriguing me. I’m starting to get the sense he’s gonna be a hero in a future book.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:34:41
Lynne likes a little danger with her fictional boyfriends. 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 09:56:07
Nobody recent comes to mind, but Mr. Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables was my first fictional boyfriend. And our relationship lasted for many, many years.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:35:12
Awww, he was mine too. I cannot tell you for how long I looked for a boy named Gil.
Feb 18, 2012 @ 00:07:36
He was pretty hot back then, huh? Yum.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 09:56:21
Hmm… Jaime Fraser from Outlander. Or Roarke from the In Death series. Or Cian from Nora Roberts’ The Circle Trilogy. Obviously, I’m a sucker for an accent…
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:35:53
I’m with you girl. I love a brogue!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:14:21
I have waaaaaay too many of these! But thankfully, I also have a husband who understands my quirks 🙂
Matt Nathanson, Alex O’Loughlin, David Boreanaz, Robert Downey Jr. a la Sherlock Holmes (okay, maybe Tony Stark too), Jason O’Mara (I have a total soft spot for Joe Morelli!)…too many to name.
Literary crushes? Let’s see. Rehv from JR Ward’s BDB series (purple eyed Alpha vampire…enough said), Ted Beaudine from SEP’s Call Me Irresistible, Dev in Susan Andersen’s Cutting Loose (hello, Irish brogue), Malone the Loner in Kristan Higgins’s Catch of the Day (love me the brooders), Cade and Rydstrom in Kresley Cole’s IAD series (they’re brothers… don’t make me choose!), Joe Morelli in Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books (told you about that soft spot)… I really could go on all day.
Great thread! But now I’m not going to get much done today. I’ll be too busy day dreaming! 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:36:47
You little hussy, Kimberly! 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 11:45:03
Haha, occupational hazard! It’s all on paper, though. In reality, I’m rather meek *snicker*
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:30:01
Great giveaway. I think my fictional boyfriend has got to be Ranger from the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. He seems so mysterious
Feb 17, 2012 @ 10:37:09
Oh yeah, I’m a Ranger girl myself. All it takes is one word: Babe.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 11:05:40
Okay, first I’ll go with the sweet fictional hero from Kristan Higgin’s book Just One of the Guys. Trevor Meade. Ahhhh. Sweet firefighter and good friend and just a sweet, melty good hero.
But….if I have to go with the super hot–magna hot and steamy–I have to go with Darynda Jones’s hero from the First Grave on the Right series. The super hot paranormal savior with a cool sword and hot, hot body. Did I mention hot yet? In three words: Reyes Alexander Farrow. Just….just…..HOT! And that is completely deserving of all caps. Amazing series! Amazing.
*Fanning myself*
Kim
Feb 17, 2012 @ 11:07:20
Oh man, I haven’t read Darynda Jones’ series yet, but I want to sooooo bad. Next on the list.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 11:09:07
I knew it I knew it I knew it! I’ve been waiting all morning for Kim to talk about Reyes. I’m reading the first book now and it’s AMAZING!!!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 11:29:18
Ahhhhhh. * Big huge lusty sigh* Love, love, love Reyes. Have I said that before? 🙂
I have made so many people read this series that I should be getting some type of kickback at this point. Like 1% of sales….
The kick-ass grim reaper heroine is also fantabulous, but, Reyes….Reyes…Reyes….. I’ve reread each book so many times that I can pretty much tell the exact pages of scenes now. LOL.
If you haven’t read this series, GET. THEE.TO.THE.BOOKSTORE.TODAY!
See what I mean? 2% of sales. That would be better. 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 11:46:35
I am also a HUGE fan of this series, and of Darynda, who is made of awesome! Reyes is a fantastic hero– tres yum! I read the first book in a day, honestly! Great, great pick, Kimberly!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 12:17:15
Yes, I’ve also been waiting for Kim to chime in with Reyes. I too started reading the series after we talked on Saturday… And now I’m on book 3! So thank you to Kim! Or Reyes. Or both.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 16:10:56
Yay, you!!! I love when I introduce my friends to my fictional boyfriend Reyes. But, don’t get too chummy because I saw him first. Well, read, but still…
He’s mine. Although his heart has been taken from just about the start of eternity….sigh.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 17:31:11
Squee!!! Thank you so much, Kimberly and all! I love writing Reyes. Sigh….
I think I will go with Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s books. LOVE that man. I go weak just thinking about him.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 20:49:17
Yay Darynda!!! Thank you for stopping by our lagoon! 😉
Feb 17, 2012 @ 21:21:57
Thanks for stopping by the Mermaid Pond Darynda and Reyes rocks!!!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 12:11:40
I think I’d take any of the guys in Anita Blake’s harem, especially Jean Claude. I love Laurell K. Hamilton’s hot Anita series.
Those Black Dagger Brotherhood guys of JR Ward’s are plenty tempting too.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 14:00:56
I like Anita’s guys, but I would much rather have Merry’s guys from LKH’s other series. Any and all of the guys really, I wouldn’t want to be picky. 😉
Feb 17, 2012 @ 17:28:43
Fictional breathing boyfriend would be Gerard Butler, in print Roark Deverell in Kathleen Woodiwiss’ Shanna. 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 18:50:08
I’m one of those fickle females. My fictional boyfriend depends on the book that I’m reading at the time. I don’t read a lot of series where the major character is in each book. I guess I’m just one of those love ’em and leave ’em kind of women.

Way to go Mr. Flynn!!!
As for the fictional boyfriends, there are so many…
Ruark Beauchamp from Kathleen Woodiwiss’s Shanna, Jamie Fraser from The Outlander Series, Cian from Nora Roberts’ Circle Trilogy and I’m not sure I could choose between Ranger and Morelli from Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum Series.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 20:53:36
Oh and I love Cody from Anita Clenney’s “Embrace the Highland Warrior” – yum! I would definitely date him!
Feb 17, 2012 @ 21:23:25
Cody is great, but I would have to go with Ronan from Anita Clenney’s Highland Warrior series. Now he is yummy! 🙂
Feb 17, 2012 @ 22:09:16
Thanks Kerri and Dana! I’m sure Cody and Ronan appreciate it as well. 🙂
Feb 18, 2012 @ 00:12:28
I confess, I’m with Lynn Reynolds on the ever-changing fictional boyfriend. Although I have managed to lust after all the Virgin River heroes… thanks to Robyn Carr, the man of the moment is always marvelous and very, very hot.
Feb 18, 2012 @ 06:48:52
Hi Susan: I have to agree with you as well. I’ve read three of the Virgin River series and I do love Robyn’s men.
Feb 18, 2012 @ 12:07:10
Man, y’all have been busy! Keep the boyfriends coming. 🙂
Feb 18, 2012 @ 15:43:25
My favorite: Gregory Peck from “Roman Holiday”, but I know I’m too melancholic ;).
And a scene when he shocks Audrey Hepburn, pretending to have lost a hand to the Mouth of Truth is so romatic :)…
Feb 19, 2012 @ 16:19:28
i’d have to say mark harmon i really liked him starring in flamingo road tv series and he’s really good in NCIS.

Thank you so much Avery. I can’t wait to read the book.
